Sometimes, the process of discovery and creation is almost as fun as the finished product. The pieces of this mobile are all cut from the same sheet, the top three pieces are the "cutouts" from making the bottom four pieces. I love the fact that I'm taking the negative spaces from between these lower parts and using them as positive spaces on the top. Hence the name, "Positive Curves" for this piece.The size of this one is 24 x 30 and it sells for around $140 in that scale. The material is PVC plastic sheet. I've made this in several sizes and colors, blue seems to be a favorite (perhaps because it gives it a nautical feel) and red is also popular (flames?), but my favorite is still black. Someday, I'd like to try it in Birch plywood.
